Privacy notice

This notice explains how Verstand AI (“Verstand”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares personal information through verstand.ai and the forms on it.

Information we collect

Information you give us:

• Contact form. Your name, email address and message, plus your organisation and enquiry topic if you choose to give them.
• VGEO waitlist. Your name, work email, organisation, role and primary use case, plus any regions, exposures or notes you choose to add.
• The Exposure Register. If you subscribe, your email address and the edition you choose. You subscribe on register.verstand.ai, which beehiiv operates on our behalf.

Information collected automatically:

• Technical information. Our hosting provider processes the information needed to deliver pages and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request.
• Campaign information. If you arrive through a link carrying campaign tags, for example from a LinkedIn post, we record the source, medium and campaign name with any form you submit.

Job applications

When online applications are enabled, we collect your full name, email, optional international phone number and PDF resume for the selected position. We store application details separately from marketing submissions in Neon and resumes privately in Vercel Blob. Vercel BotID checks the application browser; the application session cookie expires after one hour. We do not require email or phone verification or subscribe you to marketing. An isolated scanner checks files before they are marked clean.

The proposed recruitment retention period is 180 days from submission; abandoned uploads are scheduled for removal after 24 hours. The configured retention, scanner provider and a verified contact for access/deletion requests must be completed in this notice before intake is activated. Receipt confirms storage and pending file checks; it does not confirm human review.

How we use information

• To respond to your enquiry.
• To manage your VGEO waitlist interest and send related product updates.
• To send The Exposure Register to subscribers.
• To assess job applications, as described above.
• To understand which channels bring visitors to the site.
• To operate and secure the site, including preventing spam and abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Cookies and analytics

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. When online job applications are enabled, the application form sets one strictly necessary session cookie, which expires after one hour. If we add analytics in future, we will update this notice first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with:

• Service providers that process it on our behalf: Vercel (website hosting, form processing and file storage), Neon (database hosting) and beehiiv (newsletter delivery). They may use it only to provide their services to us.
• Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where needed.
• Authorities or other parties where the law requires it, or to protect rights, property or safety.
• A buyer or successor, if Verstand AI is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

International transfers

Verstand AI is based in the United States. We and our service providers may process personal information in the United States and other countries, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe. Contact and waitlist submissions are kept until they are no longer needed or you ask us to delete them. Retention for job applications is described above.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access-controlled storage. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from The Exposure Register at any time using the link in any edition.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, contact us as described below. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Other websites

The site links to other websites, such as our social media pages. Their own privacy policies apply to any information you give them.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
